Configure Omoplata Bridge
Omoplata Bridge is a small app on your computer. With it you send your SEPA direct debits from Omoplata to your bank and fetch your bank statements. This guide follows Jana of Nordlicht Kampfsport from the first start to a working bank connection - five minutes, once.
What you need
- The Bridge is installed - see Download and install.
- A bank account with its IBAN is stored in Omoplata - see Record your SEPA creditor details.
- You are allowed to manage API keys in Omoplata.
- Username and PIN of your online banking, and your TAN device.
1. Connect with Omoplata
On its first start the Bridge shows exactly one button.
- Click Connect with Omoplata. Your browser opens Omoplata.
- Omoplata asks which club is yours: enter the address you open Omoplata at. If your browser already knows your club, the question is skipped.
- Log in and click Connect.
The browser jumps back, and the Bridge reports Connected to Nordlicht Kampfsport.
With that you can send SEPA direct debits and fetch bank statements through the Bridge - it has no access to anything else in Omoplata. You can revoke this at any time in Omoplata under Settings › API keys.
The browser does not come back by itself?
After you confirm, Omoplata shows you a code. Copy it and paste it in the Bridge under Paste code. It is valid for five minutes.
2. Log in at the bank
Settings › Bank connections now lists your club's bank accounts. Click Set up next to the account. The Bridge recognises the bank from the IBAN.
- Enter Username and PIN - exactly the ones from your bank's online banking.
- Tick Store the PIN on this computer if the Bridge should not ask every time.
- Click Connect.
Your bank details stay on your computer
Username and PIN are stored encrypted on this computer only and are sent only to your bank. Omoplata never receives them - and no TAN either.
The bank rejects the login? The Bridge shows what the message means. First check whether you can log in to your bank's online banking with the same details, and do not simply keep trying: after three wrong PINs the bank locks the access.
Unknown bank? Enter name, bank code and FinTS address yourself; your bank tells you the address.
3. Choose TAN method and account
- TAN method: Approval in the banking app is marked Recommended and already selected. Click Continue.
- TAN medium: Choose your device if the bank knows several.
- Account: Click the account marked Matches Omoplata.
Some banks ask for an approval here: confirm it in your banking app. If your bank does not ask, it simply goes on. Then the Bridge reports that the bank connection is saved - done.
Afterwards
In the Bridge you send the SEPA files from Omoplata to your bank under Direct debits and fetch your transactions under Bank statements. - More bank accounts: Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each account.
- Another club: Settings › Connect another club.
- Another or a new computer: Set it up there again. Bank login details never move from one computer to another.
- Change something: Settings › Bank connections › Change. If you changed your username or PIN, click Log in at the bank again there.
