Set up step by step

Connect your email account

Omoplata sends a lot of email to your members -- invitations, payment reminders, notices when a direct debit fails. By default they go out from a system address. It is better if they come from your club address.

Why it is worth it

  • Members can reply to the email directly -- the reply lands in your mailbox instead of nowhere.
  • The communication feels more personal and visibly comes from your club.
  • Deliverability improves, because the sender address matches your domain.

How to connect your mailbox

  1. Go to Settings > Emails.
  2. Enter your email account's credentials. You get them from your email provider -- typically a server address, port, username and password.
  3. Set the sender address your members should reach you on (for example info@your-club.com).
  4. Save and send a test email. Check that it arrives, looks right and shows the correct sender.

We can help you with this

Your provider's credentials are not always easy to find, and each provider has its own quirks. If you need a hand with the connection, get in touch with Omoplata support -- we will set it up together with you. Alternatively, you can get an email address from us.

Deliverability

Your own address on your own domain (like info@your-club.com) arrives more reliably than a free mailbox. Make sure valid SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are set for your domain, otherwise messages end up in spam.

What else you can do with it

The same mailbox also drives the inbox in Omoplata: replies from your members are captured as conversations, matched to the right member and can be answered straight from the system.

Which emails Omoplata sends automatically and how to adjust their texts is under Notification templates.
